At The Sugarpod Cakery, we are passionate about designing, baking and decorating unforgettable cakes. Our bespoke creations are handmade using only the finest ingredients, so you can rest assured that not only will your cake look beautiful, but will taste scrumptious too.

The Sugarpod Cakery, situated in Melbourne in South Derbyshire, was just a
childhood dream until 2013, when that dream became a reality.
founder of the Cakery, Amy Broster, a true lover of cake, has been an
enthusiastic baker since childhood and, for many years, held the title
of 'official cake baker' for all family events.
Amy has come a
long way since those childhood days, having undergone a series of
sugarcraft courses, and is now locally renowned for creating
spectacular designs for a wide variety of celebrations. Using only the
purest and highest quality ingredients, Amy has perfected each of her
recipes and is able to bake both delicious wheat based cakes and gluten
free cakes in a range of flavours.

Using our own special tried and tested recipe, we bake the finest gluten free cakes. Having been diagnosed as wheat intolerant, Amy, the founder of the Sugarpod Cakery was determined to continue eating her favourite food - cake. Having tried all of the gluten-free cakes available in supermarkets and experiencing disappointment in them all, Amy was intent on creating a cake that was both deliciously moist and tasty and that had a delightful texture. After some trial and error, she developed a perfect gluten-free recipe and was able to bake cakes that rivaled the best wheat-based cakes on the market.
Our customers constantly tell us that the guests at their celebrations were surprised when they found that they were eating a gluten free cake, they really couldn't tell the difference! We would love to bake for you, so that you can share our delights too; plus our gluten free cakes can be decorated in exactly the same way as a more conventional cake, so there really is no limit to what we can produce for you.

We are happy to deliver your cake to your chosen venue, our delivery rates are very competitive. Alternatively we offer free collection of suitable cakes from The SugarPod Cakery. Please note that once collected, the full responsibility for the safety of the cake is with the client and The SugarPod Cakery is not liable for any damages thereafter.
A 25% non-refundable deposit is required on order confirmation. The final balance is payable 4 weeks before completion. Orders placed with less than 4 weeks notice before completion must be paid for in full at the time of order confirmation.
For cancellations with more than 4 weeks notice before completion, the deposit payment is non-refundable. Any specially ordered items and work already undertaken on your order are chargable in addition. For cancellations with less than 4 weeks notice before the completion date, 75% of the full balance is payable.
Please note that accessories used to decorate some of our cakes, such as brooches, ribbons, beads, diamantes, feathers, silk flowers etc are not edible and must be removed from your cake before serving. All of these decorations will only be used at the clients request and The SugarPod Cakery accepts no responsibility for any physical harm that may arise from their use.
We specialise in gluten free cakes. However, please be aware, whilst every care is taken we cannot guarantee that our products are free from other allergens. Please contact us personally to discuss any specific requirements.
